Home-Start Uganda is a
voluntary organization dully registered in Uganda (registered under the NGO Statute
Reg. No. S. 5914/5081
in March 2004.)
in which volunteers
support, friendship and practical help
to families with young children, in
their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown. Home-Start is
available for any family with at least one child under 8 years of age.
has been working in this way for over 30 years, worldwide. It is a family
support organisation with active and wholly independent sister organisations
using similar but by no means identical methodology in more than 16 countries.
A National Coordinator with extensive organisational and non-profit service
experience governs Home-Start Uganda. One hundred percent (100%) of the board
of Director are guarantors; all board members serve on a probono basis.
Home-Start Uganda wants to see a Uganda where vulnerable families receive the
help they need to give their children a safe and healthy start in life.

sustainability of the Home-Start family support service.

family support training, information and guidance to parents and caregivers in
care of very young children in their communities.
